Tobias Zingel has been appointed country manager for New Balance in Germany, where the brand is said to be growing fast. He replaces Jürgen Konrad, who left the company after six years in order to take on new challenges. Apart from one year as sales manager at Jack Wolfskin, the 39-year-old has worked at New Balance in various positions since autumn 2003. In his position as sales manager and head of product and marketing, he was involved in the development of the brand in Germany. New Balance has also expanded the local sales structure, placing distinct sales managers in charge of the performance and lifestyle segments. New Balance plans to double the number of shop-in-shops in Germany to about 100 by 2018.
