Nordic Fabric Fair – Fashion & Function brings together fashion and functional textile sourcing in a single curated Stockholm event for the first time, targeting buyers who move across both segments.

Nordic Fabric Fair is relaunching in December in a significantly expanded format, adding sport, outdoor, fitness and workwear to its existing fashion sourcing remit under a new name: Nordic Fabric Fair – Fashion & Function. The event’s organizers describe it as one of the first cross-category textile sourcing fairs of its kind in the region.

The fair is scheduled for December 8–9 at Nackastrandsmässan in Stockholm, bringing together international textile producers and suppliers alongside buying teams, designers and product managers from across Northern Europe.

The relaunch is co-organized by Stockholm Fashion District — Sweden’s commercial hub for the fashion industry, founded by Trade Partners Sweden — and Huginbiz, a Scandinavian consultancy with longstanding ties to the functional textile and sport-outdoor trade show circuit, and more than two decades of experience representing international trade fairs across those sectors.

Combining fashion and function: the rationals

Martin Kössler, CEO of Huginbiz and founder of Scandinavian Outdoor Group, sees the Nordic market itself as the commercial case — a region where, as he puts it, “culture and climate reward a dress code combining fashion with function.” Helena Waker, CEO of Stockholm Fashion District and Trade Partners Sweden, stresses the expanded format as a structural opportunity, describing it as a chance to “strengthen Sweden’s position at the forefront, particularly in sustainability and new innovations within both tech and textiles.”

Who Nordic Fabric Fair is for

The combined format targets buyers who increasingly move across fashion and performance categories — a buyer profile shaped by the ongoing convergence of sport and lifestyle aesthetics across product development, retail and brand strategy.

The exhibition will be by invitation only, with a curated lineup spanning woven fabrics, knits, yarns, trims and textile technologies across both fashion and functional segments.
