Trond Evald Hansen has resigned as managing director of the Norwegian sporting goods organization, Sportsbransjen AS. After five years leading the group, which has represented both suppliers and retailers since 2006, Hansen has decided to return to the fitness sector, where he will become product and concept director for Friskhuset Holding as of June 1. Before Sportsbransjen, Hansen worked as product manager for SATS, the big Scandinavian chain of fitness clubs. During his tenure at Sportsbransjen, Hansen helped the organization gain a solid position in Norway for one of the country's most competitive industries. Sportsbransjen is jointly owned by Norspo, organizer of the Norwegian sporting goods fair, and Sportskjedene AS. Currently, no one has been chosen to fill Hansen's position, but the search has started, and according to Gisle Daviknes, chairman of Sportsbransjen, Hansen's successor will have large shoes to fill.
