Two Andys are going to run Pentland Brands from next Jan. 1. After 16 years as chief executive of the company, Andy Rubin, 49, is stepping up to the new position of chairman at the subsidiary of Pentland Group. The new CEO is going to be 43-year-old Andy Long, who has been with the company for nine years. After working for Procter & Gamble and Boots. Long joined the group in 2006. He started off as co-president of Speedo and held the title for three years alongside David Robinson, who then took over full responsibility for the brand in 2009, when Long joined Pentland Brands' executive team as chief financial officer. Two years ago, Long was promoted to chief operating officer, a position that he will retain as CEO. Andy Rubin has been with Pentland for 23 years. His father Stephen Rubin remains chairman of Pentland Group, which owns Pentland Brands and is the controlling shareholder of JD Sports Fashion. Pentland Brands owns and manages several brands besides Speedo, including Berghaus, Ellesse, Kangaroos and Mitre. It is also the footwear licensee for Lacoste and other brands.
