Uhlsport, the German team sports company, is to supply the official game ball for the Ligue 1, the top French football league, from the 17/18 season. The company says the deal will strengthen its business in its second largest global market. It has started working on the design of an entirely new series for Ligue 1, from the official match ball to training balls. The Ligue 1 balls are currently supplied by Adidas. Uhlsport previously provided the ball for the Coupe de la Ligue competition and the Ligue 2, the French second league. The German brand is taking part in the bidding to continue supplying these balls. It also provides gloves for many of the goalkeepers in the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 teams.
