Uhlsport will become the official supplier of the FC Cologne football team in the German Bundesliga, replacing Erima from 2018 for four years. FC Cologne was the winner of the first ever Bundesliga championship in 1963 and one of the most successful in the early years of the competition, but has been a “yo-yo club” since 1998, rising to and dropping from the first Bundesliga often. Since 2012, FC Cologne has stabilized and shown continual improvement, finishing fifth last season and qualifying for Uefa's Europa League. Uhlsport recently struck out in another direction by closing an agreement with a German futsal team, SSV Jahn from Regensburg.
