Umbro has signed a sponsorship contract with yet another German football club, the FC Schalke 04, starting in July 2018, for an estimated price of €6 million a year. Located in Gelsenkirchen and known also as the S04 club, it is currently sponsored by Adidas. It is aiming for revenues of €95 million in the next season, which would put it in a Champions League spot in the Bundesliga for a fifth consecutive year. The club's marketing manager, Alexander Jobst, said that it wanted to switch to Umbro in order to see its shirts sold all over Germany. He said he was annoyed that for years only Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund jerseys could be found in Kaufhof's department stores. In Germany, Umbro supplies the kits of the Bundesliga and the FC Nuremberg team. It will outfit the SV Werder Bremen club from the 2018/19 season.
