Under Armour is said to have discussed the possibility of collaborating with Samsung in the area of wearable technologies. UA's chief executive, Kevin Plank, reportedly met the son of Samsung's chairman, Lee Kun Hee, to discuss this topic. Such a combination would be a counterpoint to the long-standing alliance between Nike and Apple Corp., which is said to have been strengthened with the Swoosh turning its FuelBand fitness tracker into more of a software tool. UA could contribute the recently acquired MapMyFitness application and its database of more than 20 million users in a deal with Samsung.
