Under Armour staged a special event in Shanghai last Oct. 18 to inaugurate an Under Armour Experience store in the city's Jing An Kerry Center. The company, which has an office in China, showed its 3D “Under Armour Experience” film in the presence of the company's president, Kevin Plank, and Michael Phelps, one of its best known sponsored athletes. Rooftop yoga in Shanghai is featured in one of the scenes of the short film. Under Armour has opened six stores in China and one in Taiwan over the past two years. It entered the market in Hong Kong last July through a partnership with a local retail chain, GigaSports.
