Urs Michael Müller has resigned as chief executive of Intersport PSC, the Swiss licensee of Intersport International, after five years in the post. He has been replaced by the chief financial officer, Patrick Bundell. Officially, Müller is leaving of his own accord. Nicholas Berry, the British investor who controls Intersport PSC, credits him for consolidating the 24 percent market share held by the voluntary group and for striking important partnerships with suppliers and retailers. As previously reported, Intersport PSC suffered a big blow last year from the bankruptcy of a major retail member, Unviersal Sport. Another member, Vaucher Sport, is reportedly being forced to close down three of its four stores including its flagship in Bern.
