With a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on Sept. 27, the Uvex Group gave the starting signal for the construction of a new, modern and sustainable logistics and service center in Rednitzhembach, Germany. The building, which has been pre-certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), will begin to take shape before the end of this year. The 35,000-square-meter facility will house an automated high-bay warehouse, an automated small parts warehouse, logistics areas for order picking, incoming and outgoing goods, and high-quality office and administrative areas with a prestigious customer and visitor area. The construction project also includes a gatehouse and a parking garage. The new logistics site will replace the existing Uvex Safety logistics center in Schwabach, where warehouse capacities have been increasingly exhausted due to the growth of the group.
