Völkl can proudly call itself “brand of the century,” a title bestowed by a German publisher, Verlag Deutsche Standards, and granted to companies that illustrate the quality of the German economy. At a ceremony at Berlin's prestigious Adlon hotel, Völkl was awarded the prize for its global importance as the only remaining German ski manufacturer and for its inspiration for the entire snow sports industry. Another German sporting goods brand, Uvex, won the same prize in 2009.
