Valentino is opening sport-inspired pop-up shops in major cities around the world as part of the promotion of its Resort collection 2018. The pop-ups will sell limited edition tracksuits, basketballs, sneakers, yoga mats and other products for physically active customers. The limited-edition items all feature a new logo, “VLTN.” The pop-up shops themselves will resemble workout facilities or chic gyms. The first pop-up was opened at the Ifc Mall in Hong Kong on Oct. 24, followed by the openings at the QC Cube in Tokyo and SoHo in New York City on Oct. 26, at Maxfield in Los Angeles on Oct. 27, then followed by pop-ups in Miami, Moscow, Shanghai, at Harrods in London, and finally two pop-ups in Seoul, where the last in the series will open on Nov. 14. Founded in 1960 by Valentino Garavani in Florence, the brand is now part of Valentino Fashion Group, controlled by Mayhoola for Investments, a Qatari investment entity, which acquired it in 2012.
