Vans and the Beatles will join forces in March 2014 to release a collection of footwear showcasing the artwork from the Yellow Submarine album and movie. This collaboration, the first of its kind, will deliver an offering of artwork and colors taken directly from the album cover. The Yellow Submarine album, released in 1968, includes legendary tracks such as “Eleanor Rigby,” “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” “All You Need Is Love” and others. The first-ever Beatles footwear capsule will be featured on Vans Classics dating back to 1966. The Sk8-Hi Reissue will present alternating artwork on each quarter panel hosting individual portraits of the Fab Four from the film. The Classic Slip-On will feature a continued underwater scene across each pair of Slip-Ons when viewed from left to right. The Era and Authentic will showcase a scenic garden with the band and an all-over “All You Need is Love” print throughout their uppers. Yellow Submarine imagery will be marked on every footbed in the range, appear on the woven labels of each laced shoe and adorn the custom collector's box made for this special project. The footwear capsule will be available in Europe from March 17.
