Vaude's commitment to the environment was applauded by the German Environmental Management Association (BAUM), which gave its award for small and medium-sized enterprises to Antje von Dewitz, chief executive of the German outdoor company. She received the award at a reception with Germany's federal president, Joachim Gauck. Vaude has set itself a target to become the most environmentally friendly outdoor equipment supplier in Europe by 2015.
