Volcom reported net income of $6,532,000 for the 2nd quarter ended June 30, as compared to $4,632,000 in the year-ago period. The American action sports brand’s operating income grew by 27 percent to $9.7 million. Product revenues were up by 28 percent to $45.5 million, despite a drop in the gross margin of 230 basis points to 49.8 percent. Volcom expects full-year earnings to total about $27.4 million on a rise in turnover of 25-27 percent to $200-203 million.
