Völkl is moving into the summer business. Effective immediately, the distribution company Marker Tecnica Völklski Sports is the German importer of Body Glove, the American water sports brand. Its Austrian subsidiary, Marker Völkl Austria, has taken over responsibility for the alpine republic. According to Völkl’s managing director, Udo Stenzel, Body Glove fits perfectly into the Bavarian company’s portfolio in two ways: First, Völkl can now use its capacities for warm-weather products; and second, Body Glove is positioned both in the mid-price and high-end range and fits, therefore, with the other brands the company distributes, such as Völkl, Tecnica and Marker. Body Glove did not have a distributor in Central Europe for the past few years.
