While negotiating to succeed New Balance as the sponsor of the Liverpool team after the 2019/20 season, according to the Daily Mail, bidding against Nike for the Premier English League club, Puma is considering paying three times more than it is doing now to continue as the sponsor of the Borussia Dortmund team in Germany, according to SportBild. It would be paying more than €300 million to get its current contract extended for ten years, starting in July 2020. Under the present contract with the football team, which started in 2012, Puma is reportedly paying €10 million annually. The deal is set to expire after the 2021/22 season.
