Amer Sports is proceeding to some major new management changes as well. Among other things, Michael White, who has been running Amer’s business in the UK, is being appointed as general manager of Amer Sports Europe, based in Munich, starting next September. He will take the place of François Fauroux,
Fauroux is going to move to Salomon’s head office in Annecy to act as commercial director of its global hardgoods business, consisting essentially of its snow sports products. Aside from a one-year stint at Lafuma before his latest assignment at Amer, which he took on in January 2006, the 43-year-old manager has been with Amer for a long time, acting previously as country manager in France.
Fauroux has been largely responsible for the integration of Salomon into Amer Sports’ European sales structure. The latest act in this respect has been the incorporation of Salomon’s activites in Finland with those of the rest of the group at the national level under the management of Ari Alkio. As a result Salomon’s former general manager for Finland, Petri Raatikainen, is out of his former job.
