Wilson has signed a five-year deal with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) for the French Open (Roland-Garros) and French tennis in general. The American brand of sporting goods will be taking over from Babolat as the official supplier of racquet strings and balls for the FFT. Wilson's balls will be designed specifically for the famous clay at the French Open and used in various tournaments leading up to it. For the public, Wilson and Roland-Garros will be making co-branded balls, racquets, strings, tennis bags and accessories available for purchase at Roland-Garros itself, on the Roland-Garros e-commerce site and through Wilson's international distribution network from January 2020. On the site of the big tournament, Wilson will be operating an “experimental” shop with a broad selection of its products and allowing fans to test equipment at the FFT's Ten Up zone. Outside the tournament, Wilson and the FFT will be launching digital initiatives, producing an official ball for national championships and collaborating on various programs to promote tennis, especially among younger people.
