With basketball gaining increasing visibility in their domestic market, two Chinese sports brands, Li-Ning and Peak Sports, have signed separate deals to become official partners of two teams of the National Basketball League: the Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors, respectively. The contract with the Miami Heat, current world champion in the league, is for Li-Ning a way to capitalize on its launch of a Wade signature collection named after Dwayne Wade, who plays for the Miami team.
