W.L. Gore & Associates has authorized for the first time an external source, Formosa Taffeta, to manufacture some of its Gore-Tex laminates. The Taiwanese firm will act as the exclusive dual source for these products from the fourth quarter of 2016, expanding their availability for the industry. A new factory has been inaugurated for this purpose at Douliu, Taiwan. Gore and Formosa Taffeta have been working together for more than ten years.
