Zalando, the Berlin-based online retailer, will be delivering parcels for Adidas in Paris. Orders that are placed on Adidas' French website will be delivered on the same day or the following day, as customers decide. Initial trials with partners of the so-called Zalando Fulfillment Solutions (ZFS) will probably start at the end of this year in Germany as well. Zalando will remain invisible to the customer. The pilot project, in progress since the beginning of August, is Zalando's first multi-channel venture to simplify the integration of brand partners on its platform. Zalando has disclosed no contractual details or conditions. The cost of faster delivery from the Zalando logistics center in Moissy-Cramayel, as realized with a regional service provider, are to be paid by the consumer, who will be charged a premium shipping fee of €12.99 for delivery on the same day. Zalando had already realized a pilot project with Adidas in Berlin several years ago to test same-day delivery. The pilot project in Paris will run for six to twelve months. In time, Zalando plans to offer its new multi-channel approach as a service to all ZFS partners. According to Zalando, ZFS already has more than 100 partners storing parts of their range in Zalando logistics centers. And Zalando is already delivering to customers in 14 European countries.
