Asics backed a special initiative in Paris’ Place de la République on May 23, dubbed “Rally for the mind,” giving hundreds of Parisians the opportunity to experience the mental uplift of playing tennis. The Japanese sports brand has now announced that it is donating the pop-up tennis court used for the event to the City of Paris. The pre-Roland Garros event had seen Asics athletes joining in throughout the day, including Matteo Berrettini, Alex de Minaur, Ons Jabeur, and others. City of Paris officials will repurpose the court, with full autonomy on where it will be installed in the city, explained Asics.
Asics and the City of Paris announced a two-year partnership in November 2023, aimed at providing free-of-charge events across Paris to integrate physical activity into the everyday lives of Parisians. The donation of the pop-up court is meant to encourage more people to play tennis and experience the positive mental feel of sport.
