Ferrero, 45, is a former professional tennis player himself. He reached the top spot in the ATP men’s singles ranking in 2003. In 2017, he started working as a tennis coach. He is the current coach of tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, who is also part of the Babolat family.

The academy, located in Villena, a small Spanish city near Alicante, was founded by Antonio Martinez Cascales in the early 1990s with two clay courts and a clubhouse. It now spans 120,000 sqm and features 26 tennis courts and eight padel courts.
