The 19-year-old rising star plays for the Washington Wizards.
Decathlon has announced a new partnership with French basketball player Alex Sarr, power forward for the Washington Wizards in the National Basketball Association (NBA). As part of the agreement, Decathlon becomes Sarr’s official technical partner and exclusive shoe supplier. In addition, Sarr will collaborate with Decathlon’s R&D teams to further enhance high-performance basketball apparel and shoes and develop future models, for both elite and everyday players.
Sarr, second-overall pick during the 2024 NBA draft, was born in Bordeaux in 2005. Before joining the Wizards, he played with the French youth national team, the Perth Wildcats in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL), Overtime Elite, and Real Madrid’s youth team.
The new partnership will include community engagement initiatives, with Sarr and Decathlon hosting basketball clinics and events aimed at promoting young talents and an active lifestyle. The company has also announced exclusive releases and special editions of Decathlon products endorsed by the athlete, available both in-store and online.
Decathlon, a global multi-specialist sports brand and retailer headquartered in Villeneuve d’Ascq, in northern France, has 1,750 stores worldwide and a total staff of around 101,000 people.
