As SGI Europe reported in January, Fila started a new design and product project called Fila+. After hiring designer Lev Tanju, the founder of London-based skateboard brand Palace, as a Creative Director of Fila+ this week, the first collection’s products were released.

For the design of the collection, Tanju and his team focused on Fila’s roots in sailing and boating. Drawing inspiration from Fila’s archives, they reimagined and contemporized products, infusing them with a fresh and modern aesthetic. Tanju says that he has been focusing on the people who work on sailboats, including those involved in big regattas under extreme conditions, such as strong winds and foaming waves. The design elements in the collections also draw inspiration from Fila’s design history in segments such as tennis and the 1990s international football pitches.

The Fall/Winter 24 collection of Fila+ will hit stores by the end of August. It will be available at resellers such as Antonia, Dover Street Market, Luisaviaroma, Nubian, Selfridges, The Webster and more.
