The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has signed a four-year agreement with Swedish glove manufacturer Hestra Gloves, which is to supply gloves to all FIS staff, including race management teams, at events around the world.

Hestra was founded in 1936 as Martin Magnusson & Co. and is now run by the third and fourth generation of Magnussons. The brand has roots in alpine sports, and its range, present in more than 30 countries, comprises about 400 styles. It handles both design and development at its headquarters, in the small village of Hestra, in southern Sweden, where it employs about 60 people. The company also has subsidiaries in the US, Norway and Germany.

Why it matters

The partnership reinforces Hestra’s positioning in elite winter sports while providing FIS with a heritage supplier aligned with its operational needs in multiple climate zones and event formats.

The bottom line

FIS’s choice of Hestra underscores the value of specialist suppliers with proven performance credentials in winter sports – a sector where equipment reliability directly impacts staff safety and operational efficiency.
