Hummel has partnered with Cologne-based custom teamwear platform spized, making jerseys and shorts across football and handball available via 3D configurator from June 2026. The deal opens a second digital route for amateur clubs ordering Hummel kits.

Cologne-based custom teamwear platform spized has announced a formal partnership with Danish heritage sportswear brand Hummel, becoming the official partner for customized Hummel teamwear. From June 2026, 12 Hummel products will be available via spized’s 3D configurator, including jerseys and shorts for men, women and children across handball and football.

Hummel scales custom club orders via spized’s platform

Spized uses sublimation printing to apply custom designs — club colors, names, numbers and sponsor logos — to Hummel base products. Clubs select Hummel fits and constructions, then specify the design details. Hummel already operates its own sublimation channel; spized’s configurator adds a second route to the same output.

Hummel has built a challenger position in European team sports by targeting amateur clubs at scale — a segment that demands high customization at manageable order sizes. Spized’s infrastructure, which serves grassroots clubs across multiple sports categories in Germany, extends that reach. Third-party configurator platforms are becoming a significant distribution channel as amateur clubs expect digital-first kit ordering.

A challenger brand boost for spized’s customization ambitions

For spized, adding Hummel brings a recognized challenger brand with strong awareness among football and handball clubs in Germany and northern Europe. Hummel reached approximately €326 million in revenue, according to the latest company reporting, driven in part by a 20 percent year-over-year rise in European team sports sales.

The partnership also supports spized’s stated ambition of becoming the leading platform for customizable sports gear.

About spized

Spized GmbH is a German sportswear company specializing in fully customizable team apparel. It was founded in 2019 by former professional handball player Robin Teppich.

The company operates a digital-first, direct-to-club model built around its proprietary 3D configurator, which allows teams, organizations and individual users to design sportswear products in real time. The platform supports multiple sports and product categories, enabling full customization of colors, patterns, sponsor logos, player names and numbers in a single workflow.

The business targets grassroots and amateur sports clubs as its core market, alongside corporate teams and individual athletes, reflecting the founder’s stated aim to make professional-grade customized kit accessible beyond elite sport.

The company positions itself within the broader shift toward mass customization in team sports, with a stated ambition to become a leading destination for personalized sportswear and to “democratize” access to custom kit traditionally reserved for professional teams.

Headquartered in Köln (Cologne), Germany, spized employs a small but expanding team and operates internationally through its online platform, with production and distribution focused primarily within Europe.
