The two partners have said this is the start of a long-term partnership that promises to uphold and elevate both parties’ objectives.
Shred, established by giant-slalom skier, world champion, Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, and materials engineer Carlo Salmini in 2006, will provide Swedish skiers and snowboarders with a wide variety of helmets and goggles.
With the founders’ own solid experience in the world of alpine skiing and manufacturing materials, Shred provides a dimension of knowledge into the special needs of the elite alpine skier. The company has been at the forefront of technical development, introducing security features such as the Rotational Energy System, designed to protect athletes from torsion. The company has since 2006 been looking to improve lens systems by enhancing contrast and clarity and widening the field of vision.
”This partnership is essential to make our athletes feel secure, comfortable and able to focus on their task at hand, while also looking good,” said Ski Team Sweden Alpine’s Head of Marketing & Communications, Kalle Olsson Bexell. “There is so much in a partnership of this kind, and we are excited to pair up with Shred, making our mutual mark in the world of alpine skiing.”
As Ted Ligety, Shred’s co-founder and Chief Brand Officer, as well as two-time Olympic Champion and five-time World Champion, explains: “Partnering with Ski Team Sweden Alpine aligns perfectly with Shred’s commitment to enhancing athletic performance and elevating the sport. We’re excited to support the team with our innovative products, fostering their success on the world stage.”
