The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have enjoyed a long-standing collaboration on various initiatives to support para-football and inclusion in sport. In a recent meeting, IBSA Executive Director Rufat Hajili and UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin discussed new opportunities for cooperation.
UEFA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting IBSA’s initiatives, while both organizations stressed the need for joint efforts with other para-football federations and the Para Football Foundation to promote para-football worldwide. The first Para Football World Games, a significant milestone in this partnership, are set to take place in March 2026 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
IBSA celebrated World Blind Sports Day on April 24. It was on that day in 1981 that the organization was founded. IBSA is headquartered in Bonn.
