After Manchester City players wore special Puma jerseys made from recycled soccer jerseys before the Premier League match against Watford a week earlier, Borussia Dortmund players now swapped jerseys with fans at Signal Iduna Park before the kickoff of the match against VfL Bochum on April 30th to draw attention to the sustainability project. The Re:Jersey jerseys are made from 75 percent old soccer jerseys. After the game, legendary players Roman Weidenfeller, Wolfgang “Teddy” de Beer and Norbert “Nobby” Dickel asked fans to don old polyester clothing. As a thank you, some fans received signed Re:Jersey jerseys from the players. Starting Monday, Puma and BVB will also set up collection points where fans can drop off their old polyester clothing, which will go towards the project. For more information, visit www.bvb.de. In addition to Dortmund and ManCity, AC Milan and Olympique de Marseille are also part of the project.
