ICANIWILL (ICIW), the Swedish performance sportswear brand, has been named the exclusive clothing partner of Urban Gym Group, the Netherlands’ largest premium gym operator, effective this month. The deal gives ICIW a presence across more than 50 Urban Gym Group locations in the Netherlands. It is the brand’s first exclusive gym partnership outside the Nordics.

A country-by-country playbook is taking shape

The Urban Gym Group announcement fits an increasingly clear expansion pattern for ICIW in continental Europe. The brand enters a priority market through a carefully chosen fitness partner, builds community around that beachhead, then scales.

Belgium, which ICIW has identified as a 2026 priority market, followed the same opening logic in March. The brand partnered with GOBOX, a Brussels boutique fitness studio, to launch ICIW Signature Classes across indoor cycling, boxing, and reformer Pilates. The partnership uses studio access as a low-capital alternative to owned retail. It avoids a lease, taps an engaged member base, and focuses on community activation rather than transactions.

The Netherlands move follows the same logic at much greater scale. GOBOX gave ICIW a single-location foothold in one city. Urban Gym Group gives the brand access to 50-plus sites across the country, with exclusivity that keeps competitors out of the network.

ICIW has been in the Dutch market for roughly 14 months and says it is one of the company’s strongest territories outside the Nordics. This deal is less about entry and more about consolidation. Belgium is earlier-stage, with the GOBOX partnership serving the market-seeding role that studio deals appear to play in ICIW’s model.

The strategy will look familiar to anyone tracking challenger sportswear brands in Europe. Instead of trying to displace Nike or adidas in mass channels, brands like ICIW are prioritizing premium fitness environments where a community-first identity resonates with a self-selecting audience. Exclusivity removes competitor product from the setting entirely.

The agreement is designed to go beyond product supply. ICIW and Urban Gym Group have committed to a shared program of community activations. A launch week running May 10–16 across Urban Gym Group locations is the first activation under that framework.
