Osembo brings valuable experience to On, having recently sold Enda Athletic, a Kenyan running-shoe brand she co-founded in 2017. The acquisition by footwear and apparel development group NVH Studios marks a significant transition for Osembo, who aims to leverage her entrepreneurial background to propel On’s growth in Africa.

In her new role, Osembo will spearhead On’s business development in Africa, fostering relationships with athletes and overseeing the implementation of On’s social impact program, Right to Run.

“I am excited to authentically build On’s presence in Africa, amplifying the continent’s voice, creativity, and ingenuity,” Osembo stated in an interview with Footwear News. “On’s commitment to athletes goes beyond podium moments, addressing the challenges they face and challenging the status quo.”

Having taken on her role in January, Osembo reports to Bianca Pestalozzi, On’s General Manager for EMEA. While currently based in New York, Osembo and her team are evaluating potential relocation options within the next year.

Brings experience

Pestalozzi praised Osembo’s expertise and passion for cultivating equitable athlete relationships, underscoring On’s long-term strategy to establish a meaningful presence in East and West Africa.

Osembo’s experience at Enda has equipped her well for this new endeavor. “Enda allowed me to grasp every aspect of the industry, from design to marketing,” Osembo noted. “This background has facilitated my seamless integration into On’s diverse teams and the development of a holistic approach to Africa.”

On was a natural fit for Osembo, who shares the brand’s inclusive culture and commitment to fostering impact in Africa. “On recognizes Africa’s economic potential and actively invests in infrastructure to elevate athletes and drive meaningful change,” she said.
