The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has announced the launch of a new competition featuring teams from around the world, the FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup. The new competition will make its debut in Bangkok on March 14-16, 2025, at CentralWorld Square. The Champions Cup, to be held annually, will feature the world’s top 3x3 basketball teams, including continental cup winners, the highest-ranked teams in the FIBA 3x3 basketball rankings, Olympic gold medalists and the host nation.

Thailand will host the first five editions of the competition. Sponsor, a local energy drink, and Red Bull will be the title sponsors of the Thailand events, which will be officially known as the FIBA 3x3 Sponsor | Red Bull Champions Cup 2025.

3x3 (pronounced “three-ex-three” in English), widely considered the number one urban team sport, only requires six players altogether and a half-court, and events can be staged both indoors and outdoors. The first official 3x3 event was held at the 2010 Youth Olympics Games in Singapore.
