Fischer Sports has issued a recall in North America for its RC4 Junior Ski Boots, encompassing the RC4 50, RC4 60 and RC4 65 models in various sizes. The affected boots feature the “Fischer” branding on the lower shell, with the specific model and name displayed on the upper cuff between the top buckles. The size is stamped on the sole. The recall was prompted by a potential safety issue where the ski boot cuff may rotate, leading to a malfunction in the lock mechanism. This poses a fall hazard and increases the risk of injury to users.
Approximately 1,460 units were sold in the US, along with an additional 114 in Canada. While there has been one reported incident of the ski boot cuff rotating, fortunately, no injuries have been recorded. Consumers are advised to cease using the recalled ski boots immediately and contact Fischer Sports for further instructions on obtaining a refund, free replacement, or free repair.
