Vancouver-based activewear brand Lululemon has revealed Team Canada’s summer athlete kit for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This initiative marks Lululemon’s second collaboration with the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic teams, but it’s the first time they’re crafting athlete kits tailored for warm weather.
In a statement, Lululemon’s CEO, Calvin McDonald, expressed the brand’s commitment to supporting Canadian athletes, saying: “We took an innovation-first approach to design a collection driven by athlete insights, so they can feel and perform their best in Paris.”
The athlete kits, inspired by feedback from 19 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes across 14 different sports, boast innovative designs and performance fabrics. Audrey Reilly, Team Canada’s creative director at Lululemon, highlighted the focus on cooling the body in high temperatures, incorporating features like SenseKnit technology and sweat-wicking fabrics. Moreover, Lululemon ensured adaptability and inclusivity in the kits with features like magnetic-close zippers and sensory touch guides. Zak Madell, Team Canada wheelchair rugby player and Lululemon ambassador, commended the brand’s commitment to accessibility and comfort.

Different occasions, different uniforms
The opening ceremony uniforms feature Canadian-inspired prints, while podium uniforms are designed for unpredictable weather conditions. For the closing ceremony, Lululemon collaborated with artist Mason Mashon to celebrate nature’s illumination. Additionally, the official kit includes Olympics-themed running shoes, a packable rain poncho, and various accessories. Lululemon plans to make select items available online and in stores in Canada, with launches in the US and select Paris stores closer to the Paris 2024 Games.
Furthermore, Lululemon expands its “Future Legacy” program, with a portion of sales supporting the Canadian Olympic Foundation and Paralympic Foundation of Canada, reinforcing its commitment to empowering Canadian athletes.
