Moncler has reportedly decided to spin off Marina Yachting, Henry Cotton and other secondary sportswear brands into a separate subsidiary, which may be divested prior to a public offering by the end of this year. The Moncler group raised its sales by 22 percent to €624 million in the past year. Operating earnings before amortization (Ebitda) grew by 39 percent to €170 million. The sales growth was driven by Moncler's expansion in China and Japan. Italy's share in the turnover was only 26 percent last year. Asia and the rest of Europe contributed 32 percent each to the total. Sales of the Moncler brand, which represent 70 percent of the group's revenues, rose by 35 percent and 51 percent of them came from its retail operations, whose revenues increased by 18 percent on a same-store basis. There were 83 Moncler stores in operation at the end of December, compared with 55 in June 2011, when the Eurazeo fund took over the company's control.
