In September 2023, Nike announced a new partnership with the Olympic Refuge Foundation (ORF). As part of that collaboration, the sportswear giant has now announced the signing of boxer Cindy Ngamba, a member of the IOC Refugee Olympic Team Paris 2024.
Ngamba, 25, was born in Cameroon and moved to the UK at the age of 11. She still lives and trains in the UK, where she also works as a coach for young athletes. In March 2024, she became the first-ever refugee boxer to qualify for the Olympic Games for Paris 2024.
