Adding to many other pending product liability and class action suits affecting the American connected fitness company, it’s now the turn for a former inside sales representative to sue Peloton Interactive, this time for alleged violation of federal and state labor legislation. The suit, filed in the New York Court for the Southern District, accuses Peloton of failing to pay one-and-a-half the regular hourly fee for its reps. The overtime payments were due if they would work more than 40 hours in a workweek, and according to the complaint, they were forced to work overtime to meet sales quotas that would have been too high to meet otherwise. In addition to seeking class certificiation for employees who have worked for Peloton in the past three years, the suit asks for the due overtime pay, accrued interest and attorneys’ fees and costs.
