David Beckham has officially received his knighthood from King Charles III at Windsor Castle, in recognition of his contributions to sport and philanthropy. The honor highlights Beckham’s enduring legacy both on and off the pitch.

Beckham, 50, was included on the King’s Birthday Honours List for 2025 and has received his knighthood 20-odd years after he was made OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire), in 2003. The former England captain was accompanied by his family, including wife and fashion designer Victoria Beckham

Beyond football, Beckham has become a key sports business and lifestyle figure, with ventures in fashion, fragrances and, through Inter Miami CF, team ownership. He is also a brand ambassador for Authentic Brands Group (ABG), which has highlighted the honor.

Beckham’s knighthood reinforces his position as a cross-sector symbol of sporting excellence and brand leadership, bringing together sport, fashion and entertainment – a narrative increasingly relevant to the lifestyle and sportswear markets.
