UK-based Castore has appointed former JD Sports executive Peter Alecock to the newly created role of Commercial Director. Castore, which was named the second fastest growing private company in the UK in June 2023, has made some new appointments to its leadership team in 2024, including Stuart Puddy as its new investment director, Puddy which also came from JD Sports.
Alecock was most recently CEO of Joe Browns, a role he held from July 2022 until February this year. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer at JD Sports from September 2019 until May 2022, having spent 16 years at the sportswear giant in a variety of commercial roles.
As commercial director, Alecock will be responsible for the sportswear brand’s overall channel performance across retail, wholesale and e-commerce for both its partnerships and mainline divisions, Castore said in the press release.
