After 28 years with the company, Guillaume Meyzenq has been appointed CEO and president of Salomon. He will be taking on these duties on Jan. 1, 2025.

This is Meyzenq’s second appointment at Salomon this year, after that of Chief Product Officer Softgoods in July 2024. He will succeed James Zheng, the interim CEO, and report to him, as Zheng will be returning to his main role as Group CEO of Amer Sports. Zheng took over from former CEO Franco Fogliato, who left the company in April 2024.

“With a demonstrated record of achievement in international sales, both in Winter Sports and in Outdoor Footwear, Guillaume will expand his role to unleash the company’s potential,” says Zheng. “He is an inspiring leader who seamlessly blends Salomon’s core values with his unique leadership style characterized by rigorous engagement. His bold vision and unwavering commitment to innovation are set to propel Salomon forward, solidifying its status as the global leader in mountain sports and lifestyle.”

Salomon knows what it is getting with Meyzenq. With a 28-year career at Salomon, Meyzenq was chosen for his understanding of the sports industry and knowledge of the iconic company born in the French Alps. He has held leadership roles throughout his tenure, including those of Senior Vice President of Footwear and, most recently, Chief Product Officer of Softgoods. His transformational leadership style, operational excellence and focus on innovation have driven Salomon’s footwear success, the company says.
