Nike keeps swapping people in the company. Jennifer Hartley, a 14-year company veteran, is the latest, and the 15th key person in the last nine months. 

The Swoosh keeps placing people in new positions. The latest is Jennifer Hartley, who has been with Nike for the last 14 years, serving since March 2024 as VP of Strategic Enterprise Capabilities. From now on, according to an internal email written by CFO Matt Friend and seen by Footwear News, Hartley will also be serving as Chief Strategy Officer and forming part of Nike’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT), helping to “develop, drive and deliver Nike’s strategic agenda.” She will be taking up her new position this week.

Jennifer Hartley is Nike´s new Chief Strategy Officer.

In seeking to return to its golden days, Nike has rearranged the C-suite several times. SGI Europe has reported 15 changes in management personnel over the last nine months. This includes the Global Senior Creative Director, the Chief Information Officer, the General Manager, the Vice President, the Executive Vice President and, of course, the CEO. Elliot Hill is a captain with a completely new crew. 

Before Hartley obtained her previous role she was VP of Marketplace Finance for North America. She began her career at Nike as Director of Corporate Strategy & Development. Before Nike, she was at McKinsey & Co. and Arthur Andersen

Former Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer Daniel Heaf left Nike earlier this year after the company eliminated his position and integrated the employees under his direction into the finance department.
