Oriol Martínez de Juan has become Sales & Marketing Director for Head Spain, with oversight of Spain, Andorra and Portugal, according to TradeSport, Nevasport and PadelSpain.
He joined the company in July to succeed Jochen Schirmer, holder of the post since 2012. Schirmer has since taken up an international post within the group, according to the same sources.

Martínez de Juan has devoted most of his career to sportswear but made a pit stop in fashion. He spent about two years at Desigual, joining in October 2021 as Director of Global Marketplace Strategy before becoming Global Commercial Director the following June. He held that post until 2023, according to Modaes.
Before Desigual came nearly two decades at Nike. He became that company’s Retail Marketing Director for Spain in 2002 and expanded his oversight to Europe in 2005. By 2010 he was running sales for Nike Sportswear in Spain, according to Material Deportivo and Modaes. Converse put him in charge of Spain and Portugal in 2011, and five years later Nike brought him back to run Nike Sportswear for southern Europe, adding the region’s football business (worth some $400m) in 2018.
Sports Emotion hired him in 2024 to lead a new retail banner, Running Emotion, which opened its first store in 2025.
