Tara McRae leaves the presidency of PUMA North America to become Skechers’ chief marketing officer, joining a company now investing heavily in European distribution and international growth under private ownership.
Skechers has appointed Tara McRae as chief marketing officer, adding a veteran footwear and sportswear marketer who most recently served as president of PUMA North America.
McRae took over leadership of PUMA’s North American business in April 2025 after returning to the company the previous year as senior vice president of brand and strategy. The appointment marked her second stint at PUMA, where she spent a combined 12 years across brand management, sports marketing and media planning roles.
Before rejoining PUMA, McRae held senior marketing positions at Clarks and TB12, the health and wellness company co-founded by former NFL quarterback Tom Brady. At Clarks, she led the brand’s first global ambassador campaign and helped develop collaborations with partners including Supreme and Kith.
The move brings an experienced brand builder to Skechers at a pivotal stage in the company’s development. The footwear group was acquired by 3G Capital in 2025, ending its 26-year run as a public company. Since then, Skechers has continued to invest in its international infrastructure, including the expansion of its European distribution network.

As chief marketing officer, McRae will oversee marketing across a business that describes itself as the world’s third-largest footwear company, with products sold in approximately 180 countries through wholesale, direct-to-consumer and retail channels.
For Skechers, the hire strengthens the leadership team as the company looks to maintain global momentum following its transition to private ownership and continued expansion across international markets.
