Tiger Woods has has unveiled his new apparel brand, Sun Day Red, at this week’s Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, held at Riviera – where Woods made his debut on PGA Tour, as an amateur. The brand was created in collaboration with TaylorMade.

Sun Day Red is set to launch on May 1 and, in a press release, has promised to “bring a new and elevated standard to performance wear and luxury lifestyle fashion.”
The initial pieces for the new brand will feature “never-seen-before patterns, fabrication, and technical detailing.” The collection will include luxury logo tees, fleecewear and hats. Additionally, there are plans to create clothing for women and children, as well as footwear.
All in the details
“I have learned so much over the years and have a lifetime of experience adjusting my apparel and footwear to help me play better based on the way it was constructed,” Woods said during the brand presentation. “There are things that I could tell you that no one knew I was doing over the years. I’m ready to share those secrets with the world. Sun Day Red will embody a love of playing and competing, and we are for people that share those values, whether it’s on the course, or in life. We will be anchored to putting the athlete first in the product decisions we make.”
For those curious about the packaging, there are some interesting details. The logo, a tiger, consists of 15 stripes, to represent Tiger Woods’ major victories. The name, Sun Day Red, was chosen because “there’s a special power in 3’s.” Since childhood, Tiger Woods has also worn red polos on Sundays, the decisive day of competitions. This is because the color red brings luck in Buddhism, which was important to the legend’s Thai mother, Kultida Woods.
