Lacoste enters a crowded padel equipment market with an in-house supply route and premium price points.

Lacoste  has launched its first full padel range: two racquets, a shoe, a bag and a technical apparel line. The rackets carry Tecnifibre engineering, and the collection reaches Lacoste stores across Europe from Sept. 24, with wider international distribution following.

Holding acquired 80 percent of Major Sports, Tecnifibre’s parent company, in 2017, and has controlled the racquet-sport specialist ever since through MF Brands Group. Now, that relationship becomes two Lacoste-branded racquets.

With this integration, Lacoste secured pre-existing expertise: a subsidiary already selling padel equipment before the acquisition, a co-developed L20 tennis racquet, and global distribution of Lacoste performance tennis and golf product handled by Tecnifibre since the Spring/Summer 2022 season across roughly 70 countries. The capability behind this launch was already inside the group.

Two racquets, premium pricing

The L.MAX is the heavier of the pair at 360 grams, built in 18K carbon on a diamond head shape and priced at 350 euros. It uses X-Speed, a perforation pattern intended to cut drag through the swing, plus X-Top for impact and abrasion protection at the head and Spin Skin 3D, a textured striking face. It ships as a set with a case and a collector ball.

The L.SOFT is aimed at newer and improving players. It weighs 345 grams, uses a carbon and fiberglass composite on the same diamond shape and retails at 250 euros, supplied with a case. It carries X-Top and Spin Skin 3D but not X-Speed.

Both sit at the premium end of a category where carbon racquets are widely available for considerably less.

The heritage tennis brand faces tough competition

Bullpadel, Nox and a cluster of other Spanish specialists hold the Spanish and Latin American strongholds, while Head,Babolat, Wilson and adidas convert existing racquet-sport distribution into padel volume. Lacoste has entered at 250 and 350 euros with no touring professional on either frame and no entry-level model beneath them. That does not disturb the order.

Apparel and footwear are a different question. That is the part of the category where a century of tennis wardrobe credibility actually transfers, and it is where Lacoste has margin the equipment specialists cannot match. The supporting line prices accordingly: the AG-LT Ultra shoe and theL-Paletero bag at 150 euros each, a Sport Ultra Dry T-shirt at 70 euros, a short at 65 euros, socks at 30 euros for three pairs.

The groundwork was laid last winter. Club Lacoste Courchevel opened on Dec. 20, 2025 with two permanent courts in the French Alps, and a Lacoste x Courchevel clothing collection launched alongside them. The first thing Lacoste sold into padel was clothing, nine months before the racquets.
