The new BL.001 edition extends a partnership using padel as a vehicle to reach affluent performance-driven consumers – a strategy mirroring broader luxury-sport crossover trends reshaping the market.
Automobili Lamborghini and Babolat have unveiled five new color variants of the BL.001 padel racket, extending a co-branded partnership launched in 2024. The release is limited to 50 units and is set to debut at the Lamborghini Arena event at Imola Circuit on May 9–10.
Color and materials drive the new edition
The 2026 line puts surface finish and color at the center of the update, which the companies link to Lamborghini’s design identity. The BL.001 is manufactured at Automobili Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese facility in northern Italy. It features a 3K carbon surface and a frame reinforced with Koridion, Babolat’s rigid foam technology, which the company says is intended to increase stiffness and improve energy transfer at impact.

Padel becomes a platform for premium brand tie-ups
Across Europe, premium and performance brands are increasingly using padel to reach affluent, active consumers. Growth in Italy, Spain, and Germany has helped make the sport a frequent setting for co-branding and limited-edition product launches. The BL.001, introduced in 2024, was an early example of an automotive brand entering the category through sports equipment collaboration.
