The Powerbeats Pro 2 marks the first time Beats has placed a partner logo on its hardware – a commercial step in the Nike-Apple ecosystem that now connects footwear, running apps and audio.

Nike and Beats – the Apple-owned audio brand – have launched the Powerbeats Pro 2, a special-edition earbud that for the first time places the Beats signature “b” logo on one earbud and the Nike Swoosh on the other. The shared logo arrangement represents a commercial milestone: Beats has not previously given a partner brand this level of co-branding visibility on its hardware.

The earbuds become available today via a lottery on SNKRS, Nike’s limited-release app. A global launch follows on March 20 at nike.com, apple.com and select Apple retail locations.

A product built across two ecosystems

The feature set links Beats hardware to Nike’s software platform. Built-in heart rate monitoring syncs with the Nike Run Club (NRC) app, connecting physiological data directly to one of the running category’s most widely used training tools.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency mode allow users to switch between closed listening and ambient awareness. Hook-secured earbuds, resistance to sweat and water and five ear tip sizes are intended to support varied workout conditions. The wireless charging case delivers up to 45 hours of battery life.

Nike and Apple deepen a multi-category commercial alliance

The Nike-Apple commercial relationship dates back to the mid-2000s, when the Nike+ system first introduced sensor-enabled running data to consumers. Apple Watch subsequently integrated NRC as a native fitness tracking option, and Apple stores have become a retail channel for Nike products. Incorporating Beats – which Apple acquired in 2014 – into that product framework brings audio into what has become a multi-channel alliance spanning hardware, software and retail distribution.

The product is fronted by LeBron James, a Beats ambassador since the original Powerbeats launch and one of Nike’s most prominent long-term signings. A golf-themed campaign accompanies the release.
